Captain Britain is a Marvel Comics superhero, primarily associated with the United Kingdom. His real name is Brian Braddock, and he first appeared in Captain Britain Weekly #1 (1976).

Brian Braddock was a shy physics student who gained his powers after crashing his motorcycle. Merlyn and his daughter Roma appeared, offering him the Amulet of Righteousness or the Sword of Might. Choosing the amulet, he was transformed into Captain Britain.
